Ultimate Software Previews New Onboarding Solution at the 2014 HR Technology Conference
Date: October 9, 2014 9:30 AM EDT
Weston, FL — Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading cloud provider of people management solutions, showed its new onboarding solution to attendees of the 2014 HR Technology® Conference, held October 7-10 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas.
New Hire-Centered Onboarding Experience
At the HR Technology Conference & Exposition, Ultimate Software provided attendees with a preliminary look at its new UltiPro Onboarding solution that will be available in early 2015.
According to Cecile Alper-Leroux, vice president of product strategy and product marketing at Ultimate Software, the company’s new onboarding solution has been designed to deliver a transformative new hire experience that helps new employees feel connected, engaged, and productive faster as opposed to focusing primarily on automating and managing transactions.
“An employee’s first impressions can significantly impact his or her future at an organization,” said Alper-Leroux. “This is why it’s critical to focus on socialization of a new employee the moment he or she is hired, as well as helping that new employee unlock his or her full potential — to positively influence the employee-employer relationship in the long-term and keep that talent at your organization.”
Ultimate showcased highlights of UltiPro Onboarding, including:
- Personalized welcome messages for the new employee, providing a reminder on why he or she was selected for the position
- Dynamic content, such as videos, to provide more information about the company, team, etc.
- Interactive visual timeline that outlines all required tasks to be completed before and after the first day
- A tool that enables new hires to instantly view colleagues they are already connected to via LinkedIn
- The ability to introduce employees to a mentor within the company that can provide guidance and coaching
- Options to view and sign up for learning opportunities that are relevant to that position
- Built-in messaging capabilities to help employees connect and collaborate with fellow team members
- Onboarding goals that can be set for the first 30, 60, or 90 days of employment
- Electronic completion, review, and signing of required documents, such as tax forms, policy documents, and employment eligibility forms
- Access to the solution via any mobile browser
Before the design process for UltiPro Onboarding began, Ultimate Software’s resident ethnographers conducted in-depth studies with customers and non-customers, observing their behaviors during the onboarding process. Spending time with its target audience and learning about what they do and why and how they do it enabled Ultimate to design a solution that accurately addresses users’ needs and makes their life simpler at the same time.
“UltiPro Onboarding humanizes a process that typically revolves around administrative tasks and forms completion,” said Alper-Leroux. “Along with Ultimate’s new UltiPro Recruiting solution, UltiPro Onboarding enables new employees to discover and unlock their potential within the organization. This unique approach to talent acquisition creates an experience that leads to successful relationships and improved performance for both the individual and the organization.”
