Ultimate Software Announces Schedule of Presentations at the American Payroll Association’s 33rd Annual Congress

On May 5 at 8:00 a.m. PT, Tracie Sawade, business analyst, will present “The 10 Most Common Payroll Pitfalls,” outlining the common challenges that organizations face when processing payroll, as well as a range of best practices for avoiding pitfalls. On May 5 at 9:45 a.m. PT, Steve VanWieren, principal data scientist, will present “Payroll—The Secret Weapon for Data Analytics,” discussing why HR departments are now focusing on Big Data, how to correlate predictive analytics with employee data to forecast employee departures, and best practices when evaluating workforce trends for improved employee retention.

Bill Hicks, senior vice president of client relationships at Ultimate Software, is responsible for managing ongoing relationships with 2,700+ customers with employees in more than 150 countries. Previously, he served as Ultimate’s CIO since 2004, overseeing Ultimate’s award-winning IT team.
Mary Brumm, senior manager of global payroll at NVIDIA, has more than 30 years of experience in finance and payroll and earned her CPP in 2003. She is a member of the American Payroll Association. She currently serves on the Silicon Valley Chapter as treasurer and director of education and has held the roles of president and past president. In 2009, Brumm won the Donald W. Shaper Education Grant, and in 2011, she received the APA Meritorious Service Award.
Ivan Chaney, global product strategist at Ultimate Software, has over 19 years of professional experience in human resources and HR technology, as well as advanced knowledge in the HCM market and software industry in both EMEA and the U.S.
Tracie Sawade, business analyst at Ultimate Software, has been with the company since 2007. She earned her CPP designation in 1996 and has served in several roles in both the Denver Chapter Payroll Association and American Payroll Association.
