U.S. Olympic Committee Uses UltiPro to Elevate Employee Experience

Ultimate Software (Nasdaq:ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, celebrated more than a year of the United States Olympic Committee utilizing UltiPro to help increase employee engagement and organizational support.
The USOC supports Team USA athletes in achieving sustained competitive excellence, while demonstrating the values of the Olympic and Paralympic movements. The organization sought a new HCM solution that would boost the reliability of its payroll process and offer more meaningful performance management for its employees. The USOC selected UltiPro and went live in January 2016.
“UltiPro’s ability to provide a stable HR infrastructure helps USOC team members focus on supporting our athletes,” said James Sayno, USOC human resources director of talent and rewards. “Our people used the previous system only to log their time. Now, we have people engaging with the system daily in a multitude of ways that help us operate more efficiently and effectively.”
Sayno reports that his department is measuring higher engagement scores across the organization, and that HR is receiving extremely positive feedback from employees about UltiPro. One proof point is the way employees are increasingly using UltiPro to enter their strengths and skills into the solution. In addition, Sayno credits UltiPro’s user-centered design philosophy for the organization’s success in achieving high adoption rates.
“With UltiPro, we are providing a user experience that is comparable to the consumer product software our people engage with on a daily basis,” said Sayno. “If our employees encountered a technology environment that wasn’t familiar—or unlike what they’re used to seeing on their consumer products—they would not take full advantage of UltiPro’s capabilities.”
“UltiPro’s people-centric design helps increase engagement on a variety of levels,” said Chris Phenicie, chief sales officer, mid-market and strategic, at Ultimate. “Employees feel more in control when they can access and manage their own information, more trust and confidence in an organization with a reliable system, and more satisfaction in being able to focus on their job rather than completing administrative tasks. It is an honor to partner with the USOC to help foster a more meaningful and productive employee experience.”
