Ally or Adversary? The Three Secrets to Cultivating Winning Relationships

Presented by: SkyeTeam — Chief Executive Officer, Morag Barrett

You cannot be successful in business, or in life, unless you are successful in cultivating winning relationships. In organizations where toxic behaviors are ignored, invariably inefficiencies abound, productivity and customer satisfaction decline and costs go up. This high-impact and interactive session focuses on the “how” of successful businesses, clarifying the rules of engagement across teams. You’ll learn how to articulate the business and personal impact of quality work relationships, diagnose the health of your professional relationships, and determine the next steps for developing ally relationships while managing adversarial relationships. HR’s Efforts to Mitigate the Impact of Social Media at Work

Presented by: Ogletree Deakins — Shareholder, Rachel Reingold Mandel

By now, we’ve all stopped asking whether the use of social media at work will impact business, and instead have raised concerns about how far its impact will reach. Twitter users send approximately 500 million tweets each day, and Facebook has more than 1.28 billion monthly active users worldwide. Given the sheer number of people using social media, employers need to know how to deal with their employees’ use of it. Do you have an action plan in place if an employee posts negative comments about your company? In this presentation, Rachel Reingold Mandel of Ogletree Deakins will address the impact and management of social media, and employee use both on and off the clock.

Employee Engagement Check-In: An Interactive Session

Presented by: Ultimate Software — Leadership Development Facilitator, April Harrison

Although it takes many forms, employee engagement is one of the most impactful aspects of running a successful—or unsuccessful—business. Thus, it’s important for organizations of all sizes and industries to routinely “check-in” on employee engagement levels, through informal conversations among managers and direct reports, company wide employee surveys, department town halls, and more. This interactive session includes two components. First, we’ll check in on the status of employee engagement in attendees’ organizations and discuss current scenarios. Then, we’ll break off into smaller groups to brainstorm effective ways of addressing common engagement challenges in the workplace. Workshop attendees will leave with actionable insights for improving engagement and making a positive overall impact at their organizations.
