Non-Artificial Intelligences: You’re Smarter Than You Think

Presented by: — Professional Speaker, Dr. Brynn L. Winegard

While AI threatens to take over our jobs and outsource our work functions, it is important to remember the value in our real, non-artificial human intelligences—the type of intelligences that to date no computer has been able to replicate. Intellectual, social, emotional, cultural intelligences among them, these intelligences are fundamental to our human condition, work functions, motivation, growth, and productivity. In this keynote, brain-business expert and media personality Dr. Brynn L. Winegard dispels the facts versus fiction about your amazing human brain and how it really works. Learn how much intelligence and processing power you really have that you’re not tapping into; learn about the traps we all fall into that sap us of productivity, energy, enthusiasm, motivation; and learn the brain hacks that will help you and those you manage be better, do more, feel smarter, and be more successful in all you do, at home, at work, and in your everyday life. Audiences leave informed and inspired, armed with newfound insights into the thing that connects us all—our magnificent human brain—feeling renewed, able to tackle their toughest challenges, and better able to manage themselves and those around them. Combining frontier brain and business sciences, Dr. Brynn L. Winegard entertains, educates, and excites audiences with how to bring out their best self—and best brain—toward better motivation, inspiration, brain function, and work-life productivity.

The Art of Listening to the Voice of the Employee

Presented by: Ultimate Software — VP, HCM Innovation, Cecile Alper-Leroux

How a company treats its employees matters more to people today than the company’s mission or core values. And yet, nearly half of the U.S. working population feel they’re not being treated fairly at work. One thing is clear: Optimizing the Employee Experience requires an understanding of what matters most to employees. The traditional employee engagement survey – often viewed as the way to assess how employees feel at work – is no longer an adequate tool to capture the true Voice of the Employee (VoE). Thanks to advances in natural language processing technologies, organizations today can get a deep understanding of how their people are really feeling, which is the first step in creating a great experience for their employees at work.

Obligations to Support Transgender/Transitioning Employees

Presented by: Rudner Law — Associate, Brittany A. Taylor

In Canada, transgender, or gender non-conforming, employees are protected from discrimination or harassment in the workplace arising as a result of their gender identity and/or gender expression. As a result, employers have a legal obligation to ensure their workplace policies and practices do not directly or indirectly discriminate against transgender employees, and to accommodate the needs of these employees within the workplace. In this presentation, Brittany Taylor, associate at Rudner, will provide employers with an overview of their obligations to transgender employees, identify common “pitfalls,” and also explore practical strategies for accommodating transgender employees and maintaining a discrimination- and harassment-free workplace.
