Presented by: Moore & VanAllen — Labor and Employment Attorney, Benjamin P. Fryer

Workplaces are not immune from the opiate crisis. In many ways, employers are on the front lines of this battle, having to make tough choices about whether to retain employees with substance abuse issues or whether to drug test at all. In addition to drug-testing laws, employers have to grapple with laws regarding leave, reasonable accommodations, discrimination, privacy, and workplace safety. This session will cover the legal issues involved in dealing with a drug-dependent employee and how to make informed choices about handling the crisis in your own workplace.
