Maximizing UltiPro Performance Management

Zumba Fitness equips, supports, and maintains a branded fitness program that serves more than 15 million class participants in 200,000 locations across the globe.

Prior to UltiPro, Zumba used multiple systems that necessitated manual data entry and reconciliation. After going live in July 2014, Carol Finnell, Project Manager, People & Culture at Zumba, led the rollout of UltiPro Performance Management and Compensation Management. These UltiPro products are facilitating Zumba’s annual performance and reward process, which supports the company’s pay-for-performance culture.

Finnell has helped make Zumba’s processes more transparent, predictable, efficient, and effective by aligning goal setting, performance assessments, and merit and bonus planning. This effort has elevated the value of the People & Culture team, and enabled HR to emphasize its role as partners and change agents within the business. Better processes are also helping the company retain and motivate top performers, and create a more engaged workforce. Some highlights include:
  • Automated goal setting through UltiPro has increased employee accountability and goal visibility
  • The elimination of inefficient and ineffective paper-based processes with UltiPro Performance Management is establishing tighter connections between employees and their department/organizational goals, and producing stronger performance assessments that integrate with salary and compensation planning
