Ultimate Software Announces Additional ACA Employer Services

Offering Customers Comprehensive Assistance with Affordable Care Act Compliance Requirements

Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today the availability of new ACA Employer Services, offering customers additional assistance with ACA compliance-related activities, reporting, and filing.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA, also most commonly known as simply ACA) was designed to offer health insurance to the vast majority of uninsured Americans, including those whose care may be very costly due to preexisting conditions and who have been denied coverage in the past. All U.S. employers with at least 50 full-time employees, including full-time equivalents, are required to file extensive reporting with the IRS in early 2016 or will be subject to penalties for failure to comply.

In fall 2015, all Ultimate customers will receive the UltiPro “ACA Toolkit”—providing them the capabilities they need to complete all of the required reporting, forms, and filing for the 2016 deadline. The ACA Toolkit includes features such as a Healthcare Eligibility Dashboard, automatic generation of all lines of Forms 1094-C and 1095-C, ability to obtain and track employee electronic consents, and pre-delivered reports for ACA compliance. With the ACA Toolkit, every customer can print and distribute 1095-Cs, as well as file Forms 1094-C and 1095-C with the IRS electronically on their own.

For customers that prefer additional assistance in managing the reporting and filing, Ultimate has also introduced new ACA Employer Services offerings. The new UltiPro ACA Employer Services will help customers:


  • Monitor employee eligibility monthly

  • Leverage Ultimate’s team to print and distribute required employee forms

  • File forms 1094-C and 1095-C electronically to the IRS

  • Take advantage of penalty calculation support

  • Receive proactive alerts throughout the year to avoid non-compliance

  • Take advantage of Ultimate’s assistance with appeal tracking and response with the Healthcare Exchanges and the IRS


The new UltiPro ACA Employer Services is available in two different levels based on customers’ specific needs and preferences for managing ACA-related activities: ACA Distribution Services and ACA Management Services.



ACA Distribution Services

In addition to direct, anytime access to UltiPro’s ACA tools and reporting for employers that prefer to manage the forms and filing processes themselves, Ultimate also offers Distribution Services. With ACA Distribution Services, Ultimate handles the processes on behalf of the employer to ensure timely compliance, including:



  • Instant access to UltiPro’s ACA tools and reporting, as well as the Healthcare Eligibility Dashboard

  • Printing and distribution of employee required forms

  • Electronic filing of 1094-C and 1095-C forms to the IRS on customers’ behalf

  • Delivering quarterly alerts of employees’ choosing to view forms electronically

  • Proactive data validation and cleansing



ACA Management Services

For organizations seeking additional support in the management of the ACA compliance process, Ultimate also offers ACA Management Services. With ACA Management Services, Ultimate assists with the activities associated with ACA reporting, forms, and filing, as well as monitoring alerts and communications with the Healthcare Exchanges and the IRS. ACA Management Services includes all of the services included in ACA Distribution Services (listed above), as well as:


  • Proactive monitoring and managing of alerts on employees’ eligibility and offers

  • Notice and appeal tracking and response support

  • Penalty calculation support
