Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today its UltiPro® Spring 2016 Release, which includes an expansion of its predictive and prescriptive analytics offerings, as well as a new organization-charting tool to help all employees better understand and navigate their organization’s structure.

With more than 160 new features and enhancements, including more than 50 customer ideas, UltiPro’s Spring 2016 Release aligns with Ultimate’s commitment to design and deliver its customers innovative, people-centric solutions to support employees at every level of the organization. UltiPro’s latest release includes key features that help organizations develop and coach leaders and build great employee experiences at work—from providing managers with essential leadership skills to greater insight into how individuals’ roles fit within the overall organization.

Expanded Predictive, Prescriptive Analytics

Enhanced Leadership Actions with Addition of Content from Simon Sinek
Because managers have such a critical impact on the employee experience, Ultimate has partnered with best-selling author and thought leader, Simon Sinek, to deliver managers inspiration and guidance for becoming better leaders. Powered by UltiPro’s predictive analytics—the UltiPro Retention Predictor™ and UltiPro High Performer Predictor™—UltiPro’s Leadership Actions feature suggests actionable next steps across 16 different categories of engagement for leaders to use for retaining and developing high-performing or high-potential individuals. This new feature further extends UltiPro’s Leadership Actions that was delivered with UltiPro’s Winter 2016 Release and is available to all customers using UltiPro’s talent management products.

Based on the manager’s category of focus, UltiPro will display inspirational messages from Sinek about effective leadership. Sinek is the author of two books: the global best-seller, Start With Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action, and the New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-seller, Leaders Eat Last: Why Some Teams Pull Together and Others Don’t. Interested in the leaders and companies that make the greatest impact in their organizations and around the world, Sinek is best known for popularizing the concept of “Why” and for his renowned talk on that subject, currently the third-most-watched talk of all time on TED.com.

“I’m excited to partner with Ultimate Software to bring inspiration and guidance to leaders,” said Sinek. “It’s imperative that managers feel fulfilled by the work they do and inspired by the opportunity to lead. The leaders with the greatest ability to inspire their people are ultimately responsible for an organization’s lasting success.”

Acquisition of Vestrics—Leading HR-Focused Predictive Analytics Platform
Organizations across all industries and sizes strive to develop talent and improve the employee experience, in order to drive business results. Understanding the links between talent factors and business outcomes is an ongoing challenge, and those connections often differ from one organization to the next. To further support customers in meeting this challenge today, and in the future, Ultimate is strengthening its existing workforce analytics solutions through the May 2016 acquisition of Vestrics’ leading predictive analytics platform. The firm helps organizations across the globe measure, predict, and optimize the business impact of HR- and talent-related investments and decisions through its cloud-based predictive analytics and workforce-optimization technology.

Vestrics has been recognized by Aragon Research as a 2015 Hot Vendor, by Gartner as a Cool Vendor of the Year, by the ROI Institute for the most innovative approach to ROI, by Bersin and Associates as a learning leader, and by The Brandon Hall Group with an Excellence in Technology recognition in 2014 and 2015.

Ultimate’s continued investment in the area of predictive analytics—including acquiring Vestrics’ leading predictive technology platform and cutting-edge machine learning—will help its customers better predict the outcome of different talent decisions and discover specific actions to take toward generating the best impact for their employees. Ultimate will leverage Vestrics’ predictive technology as it continues to build out UltiPro and embed more analytics across the solution.

“Ultimate is excited to enhance our workforce and predictive analytics capabilities with the addition of Vestrics’ leading cloud technology and expertise in both the predictive and HCM space,” said Adam Rogers, chief technology officer at Ultimate. “This expansion also directly aligns with Ultimate’s mission to put people first in everything we do—enabling us to further help our customers make smarter, more informed decisions for their people.”

Organizational Transparency

For people to feel a part of their organization and be productive, they need to understand how to get things done, where to find what they need, and how they fit into—and impact—the organization. Ultimate offers a modern, convenient experience for employees at any level to have immediate access to their organization’s complete organizational structure. UltiPro’s new Organization Chart delivers an intuitive user interface for simple searching, viewing, and navigating of organizational and employee details.

With UltiPro’s Organization Chart, employees can:
• Quickly visualize their organization and zoom in and out to view team members, in addition to surrounding teams
• Easily pan around the organization with click-and-drag functionality
• View direct reports and supervisors
• Quickly search for and find colleagues
• Instantly locate contact information and job details for a specific person
• Download a PDF of the org chart

“By providing organizational transparency, businesses can better show employees how they fit into the big picture,” said Rogers. “Likewise, employees gain greater insight and visibility into their organization’s structure, which can improve communication companywide and help employees identify new opportunities for collaboration.”
