Weston, FL, December 10, 2014 — Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading cloud provider of people management solutions, announced today that it has delivered numerous enhancements to its HCM solution in the UltiPro Fall 2014 release, including new predictive analytics for identifying top-performing talent, extended global capabilities and support, and a new geo-locator payroll tax tool that makes it even easier for companies to manage payroll.

New Analytic to Predict High-Performing Employees
Ultimate has invested heavily in big data and predictive analytics solutions that go further than simply reporting, predicting, and even suggesting courses of action to help organizations identify and retain top talent. By combining more than 20 years of key HR, payroll, and talent data, UltiPro enables organizations to better understand and predict employee performance and create development plans to help employees fulfill their potential.

Adding to its current portfolio of available predictive analytics, which include the UltiPro Retention Predictor™ and the UltiPro High Performer Indicator™, Ultimate is introducing the UltiPro High Performer Predictor™ with its Fall 2014 release. The UltiPro High Performer Predictor identifies with a high degree of accuracy the potential an employee has in becoming a high performer. Employees who are not already acknowledged as high performers are assigned a ‘high performer probability’ index between 0-100, based on a statistically valid algorithm.

Ultimate takes a unique approach to big data by embedding these metrics directly into the employee’s talent card, so managers don’t have to run reports to view this information and can take immediate action to properly support their teams for future growth.

“Nowhere is the lack of data more evident than when it comes to talent analytics,” says Adam Rogers, chief technology officer at Ultimate Software. “Not knowing who your future top performers are and if you’re at risk of losing them is a huge liability. UltiPro’s predictive analytics tools are helping our customers take early action to identify, develop, and retain talent.”

Expanded Global Support
To support its growing number of multinational customers, Ultimate continues to invest in globalizing and localizing UltiPro with its Fall 2014 release. New globalized processes and country-specific localizations delivered in UltiPro enable Ultimate’s customers to process payroll in each country via integrations with third-party global payroll providers. UltiPro’s current list of more than 35 country-specific localizations now includes Indonesia, Qatar, and Vietnam, with more to be added next year.

In addition, in the Fall 2014 release, Ultimate added Dutch and German to UltiPro’s portfolio of 10 available languages.

Ultimate is also announcing the opening of operations in Singapore on January 1, 2015. The new research and consulting operation will provide local expertise and support to Ultimate’s multinational customers with regional locations and employees in Asia.

Simplified Payroll Tax Management
To reduce the complexities and errors associated with assigning appropriate payroll taxes to employees in the U.S., Ultimate is introducing a completely new feature called Smart Tax Search. This new, fully embedded capability automatically determines the correct federal, state, and local payroll taxation rules based on where an employee lives and works.

UltiPro’s Smart Tax Search will significantly streamline attributing the right tax categories to the right employees, simplify the administrative process, save time for payroll administrators, as well as increase the quality and accuracy of data.

This new feature leverages the latest GIS (geographic information systems) technology and data components that enable UltiPro to search for addresses with a high level of precision and map the geography of tax code jurisdictions to determine the correct payroll tax. The tax assignment search is completed directly within the UltiPro solution when hiring or changing locations. There’s no disruption of work for payroll professionals, and risk of payroll compliance errors are significantly reduced.

“As we round out 2014, our Fall 2014 enhancements focus on putting the person at the center of the HCM technology experience,” said Rogers. “All of the new features we delivered are focused on our core principles — creating passion and purpose for individuals, simplifying their work, and boosting engagement.”
