Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that Pharmaca, the largest chain of integrative pharmacies in the United States, is increasing business efficiencies with UltiPro®’s comprehensive reporting capabilities and easy-to-use features for HCM, complemented by Ultimate’s focus on lifelong partnership and putting people first.

Founded in 2000 in Boulder, Colorado, Pharmaca is the nation’s first integrative pharmacy chain offering traditional prescription-filling services alongside natural and complementary health solutions. The company owns 30 pharmacies in California, Colorado, New Mexico, Oregon, and Washington. Pharmaca had been using multiple solutions for its HCM, but wanted to achieve greater efficiencies by removing bolt-on programs, decreasing manual processes, and providing more direct information to their people in the field. In August 2015, the company went live with UltiPro as its solution of record to achieve these goals.

“A key reason we selected UltiPro is its enhanced reporting features, which enables us to pull data across all areas of our organization in an instant,” said Nancy Hoopes, vice president of human resources, legal, and administration at Pharmaca. “We are a lean, mission-driven organization, and we rely upon a small HR team to manage records for our entire workforce. UltiPro eliminates the interfaces between systems, giving us greater access to data and decreasing administrative tasks. As a result, our managers can spend more time out on the floor alongside our team members, providing our customers with Pharmaca’s innovative health and wellness solutions.”

Because Pharmaca is a people-focused organization, according to Hoopes, it was important to choose an HCM solution that not only offered powerful reporting and business intelligence capabilities to help managers make more strategic, data-driven decisions about Pharmaca’s workforce, but also technology that team members would adopt without hesitation and would enjoy using.

“What has really made an impact with our workforce is UltiPro’s ease of use,” noted Hoopes. “Everything is so simple and easy to understand. When you have to train your management team to run all HCM processes on one solution, you want assurance that they will be accurate, self-sufficient, and productive. With UltiPro’s intuitive design, combined with the many flexible training options, I have peace of mind in knowing that my managers are knowledgeable and operating at peak efficiency.”

Along with a solution that would simplify processes for its managers and provide its workforce with convenient access to essential information, Pharmaca looked for a partnering HCM provider whose focus on people and culture aligned with its own core values.

“For a retail organization that is as mission-focused as Pharmaca, Ultimate stood out for its holistic ‘Partners for Life’ philosophy,” said Hoopes. “We believe Ultimate offers best-in-industry HCM technology and a values-driven culture that is a great match for ours. We have received the highest level of support, and want to be in business with companies that embrace their customers and provide powerful solutions to help them to achieve their goals. Ultimate is that partner for Pharmaca.”

“We’re delighted that Pharmaca is utilizing UltiPro as its HCM solution to support its business and its people,” said Chris Phenicie, chief sales officer at Ultimate. “Our goal is to provide the strongest HCM solution that delivers optimal features, such as reporting and analytics capabilities, backed by the best services team, to help ensure the continued success of people-first organizations such as Pharmaca.”
