National Home-Remodeling Leader Transforms Human Capital Management, Reporting with UltiPro

Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that Bath Fitter, a leading bathroom-remodeling company, is achieving cost-savings in payroll processing, greater efficiencies in human capital management, and a more strategic view of its people through reporting with UltiPro®.
This Bath Fitter franchisee is an organization spanning 26 locations in 14 states, serving as the largest American franchisee of the Canadian-based bathroom-remodeling company. With a workforce of 1,200+ sales, installation, and administrative employees, Bath Fitter has a complex payroll comprising 31 different earning codes to account for job-cost allocation. The company was using multiple systems where employees would manually enter data, resulting in inconsistent turnaround times and complicating the payroll process. Bath Fitter sought a comprehensive solution that would enable it to remove the technological and administrative barriers, and better manage its workforce. The company went live on UltiPro in June 2015 to achieve these goals.
“UltiPro has given us the technology to reduce the labor spent on timekeeping so that employees are now paid within a week for work completed that week, without any lag time,” said David Sempeles, chief financial officer at Bath Fitter. “With UltiPro, our installers enter data directly from their mobile devices into one solution, with the flexibility to allocate hours worked in real time to specific project codes. Our employees are more engaged by this change, and we estimate the time savings alone to be more than 400 man-hours a month eliminated by unnecessary, manual activities.”
With a more efficient workflow gained by a single system for all HCM data, Bath Fitter is able to access information-rich reports and can now deploy its workforce in a greater number and variety of installation jobs, making for more efficient employee allocations.
“The limitations of our previous system made it difficult to accurately assess our workforce,” noted Sempeles. “UltiPro gives us instant access to create detailed reports, so that we may deploy an installer to work on any job, in any aspect of our company, at any time. For Bath Fitter, the ability to have accurate, on-demand reporting has resulted in transformational change in being able to better distribute resources across our entire organization.”
UltiPro also provides HR leaders with data and metrics to more effectively manage employees. These gains have freed Bath Fitter from unnecessary administrative inefficiencies so that it may focus on more strategic HCM functions.
“The internal acronym to describe the Bath Fitter culture is having the ‘PULSE’ (Providing the Ultimate Level of Service Excellence). With UltiPro, our managers no longer need to burden HR with frequent questions relating to employee information,” said Sempeles. “We have a level of transparency and technology with UltiPro that empowers our entire management team with the tools to effectively lead and manage talent. As a growing company, the opportunity to provide that caliber of quality service to our employees will only make our company stronger.”
“We are pleased that Bath Fitter has strengthened its processes and is benefitting from a range of operational efficiencies with UltiPro,” said Chris Phenicie, chief sales officer at Ultimate Software. “UltiPro offers the technological platform and reporting functionality for businesses to better manage their resources, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Bath Fitter to help this company achieve its goals.”
